Mmmm….

The back story is that it’s a huge hit, they just got VC funding, the set and production is moving to LA, and pros are getting involved. That will probably ruin it. Catch it while it’s still fresh!

“Going Bedouin.” What a great name for an extension of “virtual office.” Other than the two founders in an office in Austin, we’ve been virtual at BiM for the past year and a half. It’s working great for the development/operations team, but the CEO and the original founder sometimes miss the in-person contact.
I think the big issue growth issue is that communication needs grow non-linearly as the company grows in headcount. That said, we’ve learned over the past 18 months to make sure to ‘drop in’ the ‘offices’ of others very regularly, and have staff conference calls weekly. The Dev/Ops team has daily, or multiple times per day, impromptu group phone calls - which we’ve ended up sometimes calling “WC’s”, or “water cooler” time. We also keep a group IM channel open all the time.
So BiM is a case where Bedouin is working, although it will be a challenge as we grow.

I’ve written before about how much I’m enjoying daily white and green tea. It’s almost as varied, and at least as interesting, as wine, and I can drink it every morning! Great health benefits, so it’s become part of may daily routine (which includes a 1000 calorie per day, mostly organic and low fat, set of food choices - time to clean up this body so it will carry me for a very long time).
Anyway, the adiago teas web site has some great descriptions of different teas of all types, describing history, geographic origin, harvesting techniques, and flavors. It’s a wonderful information resource. That said, prices are high, and all but the Rooibos Red teas are not organic.
Adiago takes the position that the taste/quality of the non-organic teas is higher, and that makes some sense since there is far less produced (so far). That said, tea is grown in areas with little control over pesticides and pollutants…so for daily use, I’m staying mostly organic. I’ve found the all organic Numi and Rishi brand teas to be excellent (and Rishi is also fair trade certified).
