OQO 01+ For Sale
I’m selling that OQO computer I was raving about a couple months ago. It works as advertised, and after much work I got Linux running on it in passable form, but it’s not going to meet my needs. The thumb keyboard is too slow for me, and the screen strains my eyes. I also found that the wifi stuff under Ubuntu Linux was painful to switch around when on the road. I was planning to use it as my ‘emergency computer’ when on-call for Bones in Motion operations, but I’ll be going back to carrying my laptop in the trunk of the car.
I also learned first hand how lacking the various video codec support is under Linux. A little searching on google shows that are lots of people in pain out there over this. I’d at least want to be able to reliably watch movies on it!
It will probably be great for someone that wants to run Windows XP, and has other needs. It’s for sale on eBay.
Should make someone very happy, too bad it’s not me!
